BROOKLYN LIBERATION MARCHES

2020 & 2021

2020

In 2020, we brought upwards of 20,000 people to the streets of Brooklyn to rally for Black trans lives. We refuse to ignore the epidemic of violence facing Black trans people, particularly Black trans women, who are the most vulnerable people in our community. In the weeks before our march, Black trans women Dominique “Rem’mie” Fells and Riah Milton were murdered, adding to the already far too long list of Black trans women we have lost. Our community is in crisis, and we will not rest until there is justice and liberation for all.

2021

In 2021, we did it again, bringing thousands together to respond to the 100+ bills across the country that target trans youth. We know that efforts to erase trans youth, rather than being about protecting children, are intended to make sure there are no trans adults, and our entire community is wiped from existence. We also know that our oppression is interconnected with the ongoing crisis of police violence and continued human rights violations against Palestinians. Everyone has a stake in liberation and we cannot leave anyone behind.
